Byrne and Johnson first met on the 2017 season of hit dating show The Bachelor and their connection was undeniable. Laura revealed that the pair were ecstatic at the prospect of being parents again, less than a year after the arrival of their daughter Marlie-Mae in June 2019.
"I found out I was pregnant. We had gotten really excited about it and we'd had our scans and everything," shared Byrne, who also sadly suffered a miscarriage in June 2018 when she was nine weeks pregnant.
"A week later, I felt different and I knew something was wrong and I knew it was happening again. I guess I never thought I would be someone who would have one miscarriage, let alone someone who would have two miscarriages."
Byrne hopes that by speaking out and sharing her story, she can help breakdown the oppressive silence that surrounds the topic and help support others who are experiencing the same heartache.
"It is painful and it is lonely, but it doesn't need to be quite so lonely, and the more that we talk about it, and the more we de-stigmatise it, then I feel other women who are going through the same thing may feel more supported."
