Just as the grim chill of winter starts to set in here, The Four Seasons’ second installment arrived to bring a little warm viewing to our screens.
An unexpected breakout hit of 2025, we couldn’t wait to have more of the dysfunctional friend group on our screens.
For those who need a refresher, season one ended with the tragic, unexpected death of Steve Carrell’s character, Nick. Making his passing even more upsetting (and complicated) was the reveal that his girlfriend Ginny was pregnant.
As season two picks up, Kate, Jack, Claude, Danny and Anne are once again holidaying — only now, they have heavily pregnant Ginny in tow, too. We quickly realise the group is in a full existential spiral as they try to figure out who they are without Nick.
Kate and Jack are still barely holding their marriage together, using grief as both a bonding exercise and a weapon against each other. Their arc peaks with Jack deciding — inexplicably, heroically — to run a marathon in Italy completely untrained.
Danny and Claude spend the season debating whether a baby might fix everything (spoiler: it does not solve anything). The next best thing? Moving to Italy. The international relocation brings a whole different set of challenges for the couple which is only underscored when Danny’s mum ends up in hospital.
Then there’s Anne and Ginny, who go from clashing over Nick’s estate to co-raising baby Gino in what becomes the season’s most unexpectedly lovely dynamic. Anne’s previous summer fling leads to a fictional Italian boyfriend (long story), which snowballs into her deciding to stay in Italy — where she promptly meets a real man named Gianpiero, played by David Tennant.
Will There Be A Season Three Of The Four Seasons?
Yes! A season three of Four Seasons is officially coming. The confirmation came in a joint statement from star and creator Tina Fey and co-creators, Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring a third season of ‘The Four Seasons’ to life,” said Fey, Fisher and Wigfield in a joint statement. “Thank you to everyone who watched. Middle-aged people, LFG!”
Even prior to the announcement, the cast were reportedly keen to come back for more, and honestly the ending all but demands it — you don’t cast David Tennant and leave him hanging. So, we’re expecting a return from all our favourite, plus our new love interest when season three finally hits screens.
