If you thought the pods were closed for good, think again. Love Is Blind: UK is back for a second season – and this time, the cast of hopeful romantics might just convince you to ditch the apps and trust your spleen instead (literally).
Yes, one of this year’s singles is led by his spleen in matters of the heart – not metaphorically, but as a genuine compass for true love. Another’s looking for someone to share Sunday roast with his Lebanese family, while others are putting their most heartfelt (and occasionally awkward) selves forward, in hopes that the pods will finally offer what dating apps never could: emotional connection without the distractions.
Launching on 13 August and hosted once again by the ever-watchable Matt and Emma Willis, the UK iteration of Netflix’s global dating hit features 30 new singles from across Britain and Ireland. And if you thought last season was dramatic, this one includes a Mensa member, a DJ-dad, and a professional ex-footballer who’s never been in a real relationship.
