The breakout star is heading back to our screens, only this time, he’s trading in the locker room for the trading floor. Williams has joined the cast of The Altruists, Netflix’s highly anticipated limited series dramatising the real-life implosion of the FTX crypto empire and the billion-dollar scandal that shook global finance.

The Altruists Plot
The Altruists traces the dizzying rise of Bankman-Fried and his partner Caroline Ellison, two wunderkind figures who once seemed poised to reinvent the financial world, before their alleged mishandling of USD $8 billion in customer funds brought it all crashing down.
It’s a far cry from Heated Rivalry, but alluring for viewers in a completely difference way.
The Altruists Cast
Leading the charge are Anthony Boyle as Bankman-Fried and the ever-magnetic Julia Garner as Ellison — a pairing that already has us convinced this is going to be unmissable television. The supporting cast is equally stacked, with Jennifer Grey, Terry Chen, Karan Soni, and comedian Matt Rife all along for the ride.
As for Williams? He’ll be playing Duncan Rheingans-Yoo, a figure from within the empire’s closely guarded inner circle. After recently also landing a role in the Slavic folklore series Yaga, it’s becoming very clear that he is making all the right moves in his post-Heated Rivalry era.
Release Date
The Altruists arrives as an eight-episode limited series on Netflix — no exact release date just yet, but with production already underway, it feels like only a matter of time. We’ll be watching this one very closely.
