In news that has forced us to question everything we ever believed in, it turns out we’ve been singing the wrong lyrics to the Friends theme song.
As of yesterday, we were confident we knew all the words to the iconic Rembrandts theme (complete with enthusiastic clapping).
But as an episode of British variety show Saturday Night Takeaway has revealed, we were terribly mistaken, Metro reports.
During the show’s Singalong Live segment a contestant was asked to complete the line,” ‘When the rain starts to ___.” She answered “fall,” exactly what we would have said.
But as it turns out, the lyrics are actually, “When the rain starts to pour”.

We have to admit, it does make perfect sense, with poor of course rhyming with the following line, “I’ll be there for you, like I’ve been there before”.
Twitter went into meltdown over the life-changing news.
Like that woman on Sing Along Live, I've just realised I've been singing the Friends theme wrong all these years! Pour not fall! ☔🙈 #SaturdayNightTakeaway

If you knew the lyrics already, you’re a better Friends fan than we are.

We’ll use this grave error as an excuse to revisit our beloved 10-season box set.
