Attention Bookworms, You Can Now Officially Join Reese Witherspoon’s Famous Book Club

The best part? It's free!

If like us, you spend your days daydreaming about becoming best friends with Reese Witherspoon, baking pies in her Nashville home and sifting through her famous Book Club picks, have we got news for you.

Thanks to Witherspoon‘s production company, Hello Sunshine, it looks like her ever-so-popular Book Club is getting the app treatment.

Sharing the news on February 3, Hello Sunshine announced the launch of the Reese’s Book Club app, which the production company describe as a “space to celebrate, explore, and connect with each other through a shared love of reading.”

Through the new app, which will be free to use, members will become the first to hear from Witherspoon and the oh-so-special book she has deemed worthy of our spare time for the month. Typically, the 44-year-old actress takes to her Instagram to share which piece of literature she’s hand-picked on the first Tuesday of every month, meaning that app users will be in the loop prior to the Instagram’s 1.9 million followers.

If that isn’t enough to whet your appetite, members will have access to an endless stream of surprise giveaways, merchandise and will also be able to join hosted events, discussions and meet-ups to connect with authors and bookworms—and can even purchase book picks from retailers.

And it doesn’t stop there. There will be a range of exclusive items that will be made available to purchase in upcoming months, with the proceeds heading straight to Hello Sunshine’s pay-it-forward platform called The Readership.

“Since we launched Reese’s Book Club, we’ve shown that our books have the power to spark discussions, make us laugh when we need it most, and bond us over something bigger than ourselves, all while celebrating diverse voices that put women at the centre of their stories,” Witherspoon announced.

“Through Reese’s Book Club App, we are able to forge even deeper connections with our community by providing a new platform for our book club members to engage with these stories and each other.”

Continuing, the Legally Blonde alum adds, “We are also thrilled to harness the collective power of this incredible community to keep spreading the joy of reading by paying it forward and committing 100%  of all profits generated through activities facilitated in app to The Readership, our platform to amplify diverse voices and promote literacy.”

Adding on to Witherspoon’s statement, Hello Sunshine CEO Sarah Harden added: “Our mission with Reese’s Book Club is to build the most meaningful book club for women.”

“Fostering deeper connections with the books, authors, and other members whilst enabling important programs through The Readership feels like exactly the right next step in creating more meaning for our members.”

Fans of the Big Little Lies star are surely fans of Witherspoon’s Instagram-led book club, which has gained an enormous social following since its 2017 inception. With over 38 books, selected by Witherspoon, making the New York Times bestseller list, her influence on storytelling hasn’t stopped there.

Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine are currently adapting multiple stories for film and television, ranging from Hulu’s Little Fires Everywhere, which stars Witherspoon herself, Amazon’s Daisy Jones And The Six and most recently, the film adaptation of Delia Owen’s Where The Crawdads Sing, which is set to star Normal People’s Daisy Edgar Jones.

The Reese’s Book Club app is currently available to download for free on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
