Roxy Jacenko Moves Her Team Into Lavish New Office Space

No expense was spared.

The average person will spend around 90,000 hours at work over their lifetime. That’s a lot of time. So it makes sense that you would want to spend that time in a positive environment, right?

While the Googles and FAcebooks of the world have known this for some time, more employers are starting to cotton on to the idea, like Sydney PR queen Roxy Jacenko.

Jacenko has just started moving her team at Sweaty Betty and Ministry of Talent into a lavish new office space in Paddington, and it sounds pretty amazing. 

“It’s been a cracking start to 2017 for us with signings,” Jacenko told the Daily Telegraph 

“Over the course of the next two months we will complete the ground floor which will house three showrooms and a 12 person meeting room.”

Spending a reported $1.4 million on the new space, Jacenko spared no expense – but the pièce de résistance? A dedicated hair and make-up space, to save time having to go to a salon, naturally.

“In addition to my office there will be a dedicated hair and makeup space,” she adds. “With the number of events we do as well as shoots with our Ministry of Talent influencers it’s a space that will be of great benefit.” 

“Having a dedicated space within the office means that we can save time having to go to a salon, instead we are able to do everything internally which is much more time efficient.”

And don’t think she’s forgotten to install the perfect mirror for taking selfies. 

Aussie designer Camilla Franks has also followed suit, recently moving her 200 plus staff into a new multi-million dollar warehouse in Sydney’s Alexandria. And like the designer herself, the space is anything but ordinary.

Designed by Pike Withers (the team behind Qualia), the office feature meditation rooms, a yoga space, teepee – and swings for hotdesking.

While companies the Facebooks and Googles have long been the holy grail of workplaces, there seems to a shift happening giving the rest of us hope.

Because let’s not forget, a happy employee is a good employee.
