A new study has revealed the sex positions that scare most people—and the answers are interesting, to say the least.

Research from Superdrug Online Doctor, which surveyed more than 1000 men and women across America and Europe, reveals that most couples are intimidated by more than a few aspects of intimacy.

What Are The Positions Most People Are Scared Of?

The survey asked its participants to rank a variety of ‘anxiety-inducing’ sex acts on a scale of 1 to 5 to find out which acts scared people the most.

For most people, the most intimidating sexual act was public sex, which received a score of 3.2 from European respondents and 3.7 from those in America.

Following public sex was BDSM, anal and ‘rough’ sex, while oral sex was listed as the least intimidating act out of those selected.

The biggest gender disparity was found with anal sex, with 54.6 per cent of women listing it as the position they were least comfortable attempting, and only 30.5 percent of men doing the same.

For those that listed a preference for anal sex, the survey saw 87.9 percent of men list it and only 12.1 percent of women.

Interestingly, more women (58.9 per cent) were interested in incorporating sex toys in the bedroom than men (41.1 percent).

What Are The Most Popular Sex Positions?

The survey revealed that men favoured oral sex, anal sex, standing sex and ‘standing 69’ while women preferred missionary, spooning and cowgirl.

When it came to the positions ranked equally between the genders, reverse cowgirl, tabletop and ‘legs up’ were all similarly favoured.
