If you’re on the hunt for your next wholesome must-watch, perhaps add The Big Flower Fight to your list.

Whether you have a green thumb or wish you had, this new Netflix series is both completely feel-good and utterly entertaining viewing for your next isolation-related spiral of boredom.

Not all of us enjoy spending quarantine watching films focused on the demise of mankind, and The Big Flower Fight is perfect for those who are looking to feel uplifted and inspired.

The show involves 10 pairs of amateur florists, sculptors and garden designers face off in a friendly floral fight to see who can build the biggest, boldest garden sculptures.

The cast are all competing to make it to the end, where one winner will get the chance to create a flower installation for London’s Kew Gardens.

A similar premise to popular baking show The Great British Bake Off, the teams are also given a new challenge every episode. Using only plants, the pairs are put to the test to make extravagant installations like: giant insects, animals, thrones, and even a wearable flower gown.

Each team will receive points for creating the most ‘good-looking’ sculpture, and receive bonus points for being sustainable with irrigation systems and attracting wildlife and insects. David Attenborough would be proud.

If you need more convincing, florist-to-the-stars Kristen Griffith-WanderYacht judges the series, alongside a special guest co-judge each week. Griffith-VanderYacht was named top florist by Harper’s Bazaar U.S. in 2019 and 2020, with his work seen on shows such as Good Morning America and the E! Network. Impressive.

The first season of The Big Flower Fight is currently available to stream on Netflix.
