Their ascent advantageously arrived alongside Hedi Slimane’s rise at Dior Homme, where similarly nostalgic rock and roll references helped propel skinny silhouettes, leather jackets and louche rock-star dressing into the fashion mainstream.

More than two decades later, our appetite for the early aughts shows little sign of waning, making the return of one of its defining bands all the more resonant.

The Strokes will make stopovers in Brisbane and Melbourne before heading to Centennial Park for a sole Sydney performance, where they will headline the new Sydney Summertime concert series.
