Hit drama Yellowstone will end with season five, which airs in November, 2023.
The future of the show has been shrouded in uncertainty for some time, after it was rumoured that the show’s star, Kevin Costner, would not return for a sixth season.
Sources spoke with Entertainment Tonight, following reports of drama between Costner and the series co-creator Taylor Sheridan, over Costner’s filming schedule.
Costner’s lawyer has spoken out about the allegations that he only wanted to spend a week shooting the second half of season five.
“The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season five of Yellowstone is an absolute lie,” Kevin‘s lawyer, Marty Singer told Puck News. “It’s ridiculous—and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second. As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”
Despite these comments, it appears they are still yet to film the second part of season five, per ET, which fans are eagerly awaiting.
Will There Be A Season 5 Of Yellowstone?
Fans of Yellowstone, rejoice! The ranch drama has officially been renewed for a fifth season, according to Deadline. The drama series finished its biggest record-breaking season in January, which saw the finale drawing in 10.3 million total viewers. So naturally, it was a no-brainer to bring it back for a fifth time.
“Yellowstone’s record-breaking performance proves we’ve tapped a cultural nerve and unleashed a passionate audience from the centre of the country to each of the coasts,” said Chris McCarthy, president of ViacomCBS Media Networks, as per the Hollywood Reporter.
“Kevin Costner leads our incredible cast who make the Duttons America’s favourite family and this new season is sure to be another one fans won’t want to miss.”
What Is The Plot Of Yellowstone Season 5?
After watching the season four finale, the future for the faces of Yellowstone will probably remain rather relaxed.
As we saw, Jamie confronted his biological father Garrett Randall, finally getting to avenge the Dutton attack and ultimately chose John over Garrett after a season-long debate.
But the biggest question for the next season would have to be: what’s next for Beth Dutton? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Who Is Cast In Season 5 Of Yellowstone?
Of course, anyone who has watched the final nail-biting episodes of season four would know that not every onscreen character will be returning for the fifth season.
As we know, Garrett (played by Will Patton) and Sheriff Donnie Haskell (played by Hugh Dillon) won’t be returning to the ranch, but a plethora of familiar faces will be.
However, it’s unclear if new characters that we just met, like Caroline Warner (Jackie Weaver) and Summer Higgins (Piper Perabo), will also be back for the fourth season.
Additionally, the Yellowstone prequel, 1883, will make the casting availability for season five of the original show tricky. As we know, the series has presented several flashback scenes to the Dutton family before John’s time, leaving many to wonder if the next time it flashes back to John Dutton Sr.’s time, he will be played by 1883‘s Audie Rick.
When Will Season 5 Of Yellowstone Be Released?
Thankfully, there won’t be too long of a wait to get Yellowstone on our screens for a fifth time. In fact, Yellowstone season five will premiere on November 14, 2022, exclusively on Stan.
