Anyone who works in social media knows the dangers of accidentally tweeting or posting from the wrong account. But in this particular case, things got VERY out of hand for McDonald's...
A tweet was just sent out by the official McDonald's account calling Donald Trump 'a disgusting excuse of a President'.
The tweet has since been deleted, but the Internet never forgets, and has already spread around the screenshots...
It read, "@realDonaldTrump You are actually a disgusting excuse for a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands"
The tweet was even pinned to the top of the Twitter feed.
They responded by sharing an update after the tweet was deleted...

The hashtag #BoycottMcDonalds even starting trending on Twitter!
McDonald's has since confirmed that its Twitter account was 'hacked by an external source'.
Whether this is code for an employee who used the wrong account to Tweet or a hacker who had a plan to use McDonald's voice to get their message across is unclear at this stage.
