In an unprecedented first Milani themselves took to social media to allege their own timeline of events.
In the short video, the makeup brand includes the clip of Heard’s lawyer testifying that she carried the correcting kit in her purse for the entire duration of her relationship with Depp, before proceeding to debunk the possibility of that claim.
The brand recapped that the alleged abuse took place between 2014-2016, with Heard’s divorce from Depp finalised in 2016. A representative of Milani then progressed to pull up brand decks to prove that the kit was actually launched in 2017.
Captioning the video, Milani wrote “you asked us…let the record show that our Correcting Kit launched in 2017!👀”. At the time of publishing, the video had over 4.8 million views.
In a statement provided by The Metro, a friend of Heard’s commented “it’s a sad day when a makeup company uses that as an opportunity to make light of what victims of domestic violence have to do to hide the results of the abuse they endure”.
Heard is yet to testify, so her lawyers may comment further on her use of makeup in the coming days.
