Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson decided to answer some fan's questions via an Instagram livestream on Sunday, during which the singer revealed she's been sober for four months. "I’m four months sober," she said during the video session. "It’s the best I’ve ever felt," she added. "I’m radiating."
Miley's sobriety revelation comes just three months after her separation from ex-husband Liam Hemsworth was announced, with multiple reports surfacing at the time pointing towards Liam's partying as being a major factor in the split.
“Everyone always thinks Miley is problematic and immature and a hardcore partier while he’s this chill surfer dude, but that’s actually [not accurate],” a source told PEOPLE in August. “Liam parties with his friends, and Miley thinks he should’ve grown out of that by now.”
A source previously told Hollywood Life that Miley and her new boyfriend Cody have been pursuing a new, party-free lifestyle together, saying, "Partying isn’t a part of her life anymore and Cody seems to be right in sync with her on that. Back in the old days, when they used to hang out, they’d be watching the sun come up together after a long night of partying. Now they’re getting up together to do sunrise yoga."
Cody's manager, Matt Zeidman, echoed that when he gave a statement to People, saying, "Though they originally met during their own wilder phases, they’re both sober now and are focused on health, work, and spending time together. Seems pretty ideal to me."
Speaking of her new relationship, Miley revealed that she and Cody, who have been friends for years, also have a romantic history that goes back to at least 2016. When a fan asked where their first ever kiss took place, Miley answered, "I can’t remember. Probably a dirty ass nightclub. Like four freaking years ago?"
"It was in 2016 at 1Oak in Los Angeles," Cody said, but Miley disagreed, saying: "It wasn’t at 1Oak, you dummy!"
"I’d like to remember - you were a cougar though," Cody joked, to which Miley said, "I’m still a cougar, baby" and that their first proper kiss was probably on her couch.
She also took what fans think was a jab at Liam, who has moved on with Dynasty actress Maddison Brown, saying, "There are good people out there that just happen to have d**ks. I've only ever met one, and he's on this live," she said referring to Cody.
