You've no doubt seen or heard of celebrity makeup artist Nam Vo. The social media phenomenon, who has become a viral sensation thanks to her hypnotising #dewydumplings posts, has single-handedly turned the art of highlighting into its very own category, with an obsessed following eager to know her latest tips and tricks to get *that* famous glow. Well, we have the answer.
Vo has teamed up with Marc Jacobs beauty to help launch their newest glow-maker, the Highliner Liquid Gel Eyeliner, an innovative new formula of highliner in liquid form.
The beauty brands best-selling, cult-favourite highliner gel eye crayon was the inspiration behind the latest product, which has been reborn in liquid for a new lustrous finish inspired by the brand's love of shine. Just like the original highliner, this liquid-gel eyeliner features gel technology for smudge, crack and flake resistant, waterproof wear.
Speaking to Vo, who is responsible for some of our favourite celeb 'glows', including (but not limited to) Chrissy Teigen, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Kylie Jenner, gave us the lowdown on the new product, and how to use it to get that glow at home.
"Because it's inspired by the cult-favourite Highliner Gel Eye Crayon, you know you can expect the highest level of shimmer and shine. The formula has a fun, shiny pigment and I love that the applicator allows you to create the sharpest lines," Vo says.
As to how to best use the new Marc Jacob's creation, Vo says: "To get a perfect cat eye, I think it’s important to layer your liner. I start sketching with lighter colours and then build the look using darker colours to intensify the eye.
"I love introducing pops of colour using the new liquid liner. I recommend starting with a classic black cat-eye using Blacquer and then amp up your look by layering a fun colour like Gold Getter on top. Whether you start with a fine line or make a statement with bigger, bolder lines it’s a fun multi-dimensional look anyone can try!"
