The three-part adaptation is the work of Call the Midwife’s award-wining creator Heidi Thomas, Deadline reports, and will star Maya Hawke as Jo, Willa Fitzgerald as Meg, Annes Elwy as Beth and Kathryn Newton as Amy. Jonah Hauer-King plays Laurie. The BBC have released the above image as a first look at the new adaptation.
The mini-series launches on Stan in Australia on December 27, Pedestrian reports, with the second and third episodes being drip-fed out on December 28 and 29.
Will it be as good as the iconic 1994 version, starring Winona Ryder, Susan Sarandon, Claire Danes and Kirsten Dunst? And a young Christian Bale as Laurie? We’re prepared to add it to our holiday watch list to find out.
