Adele Pays Tribute To Beyoncé’s ‘Black Is King’ With Rare Instagram Selfie

"Thank you Queen"

While Beyoncé Knowles has one of the biggest fan bases of all time, Adele might be her biggest fan to date. Her love for Knowles was first seen during her speech at the 2017 Grammy Awards, after winning Album Of The Year for ’25’, over Knowles’ ‘Lemonade’.

“You are our light,” she said. “And the way that you make me and my friends feel, the way you make my black friends feel is empowering, and you make them stand up for themselves. And I love you. I always have. And I always will. I appreciate it.”

On August 1, Adele posted an Instagram photo in tribute to Beyoncé and her new visual album, Black Is King. In the image, Adele wears an outfit that matches Beyoncé’s pictured onscreen, as she gestures toward her. “Thank you Queen for always making us all feel so loved through your art ♥️♥️,” she wrote.

In the photo, Adele also shows off her new curly long hair, that looks to be a new development. In June, she posted a photo of herself staring into a fan with the caption “five ciders in”, but with long blonde hair, sans the waves.

The “Hello” singer has spent most of 2020 in quarantine during the global pandemic. And when a fan asked if she has a new album in the works, she responded with: “Of course it’s not. Corona ain’t over. I’m quarantining. Wear a mask and be patient.”

For the time being, it looks as if she—like us—is safely staying home and binge-watching Beyoncé’s magic on Disney+.
