Talk of tension has been circulating for years, with many tracing it back to the time Brooklyn married his now-wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
Speculation escalated when Brooklyn and Nicola skipped David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations. The flurry of Instagram tributes that followed only made their absence more noticeable, and fans quickly began to speculate about what it might mean. The conversation intensified again when news surfaced that Romeo Beckham’s girlfriend had allegedly dated Brooklyn back in high school.

Brooklyn Beckham has publicly broken his silence on the Beckham family feud in a detailed Instagram statement, accusing his parents — David and Victoria Beckham — of controlling the media narrative about his life and saying he “does not want to reconcile” with his family.
He denied claims that his wife, Nicola Peltz, controls him, and outlined several incidents that fueled the rift, including tensions from his 2022 wedding.

September, 2025: The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham has finally spoken about rumours of a family rift, sharing that he and wife Nicola Peltz Beckham choose to tune out the noise and stay grounded in their relationship. “There’s always going to be people saying negative things,” Brooklyn told the Daily Mail in an interview published Sept. 24, “but I have a very supportive wife.”
The 26-year-old continued, “Me and her, we just do our thing, we just keep our heads down and work. And we’re happy.”
Brooklyn—who has been married to Nicola, 30, since 2022—added that the couple try not to get caught up in commentary about their personal lives.
“Everyone is always going to say rubbish. I just try and do this, play some golf with some friends. It’s good fun.”
June, 2025: Cruz’ Alleged Dig At Brother Brooklyn
Another day, another not-so-veiled swipe between Beckham family members. Or so the internet says.
Taking to TikTok on June 22nd, Cruz shared a clip of himself playing guitar and performing his song, “For Ya Love”.
In response, one follower commented: “Are you going to stick with this job or going to become a race car driver next or something?” to which Cruz replied: “Wrong brother mate.”
Brooklyn’s many professional pursuits have been well-documented and even mocked by fans in the past, leading many to think Cruz’ comment is a slight on his brother.
June, 2025: The Romeo, Brooklyn & Kim Turnbull Love Triangle Speculation
Some reports have suggested the rift has to do with younger brother Romeo and his then-girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.
In April of this year, sources revealed to TMZ that the brothers had clashed over Romeo’s then-partner of a year, as Brooklyn and Kim had (allegedly) dated previously.
Furthermore, an insider revealed to Page Six at the time, that Brooklyn “doesn’t think Kim is in the relationship for the right reasons.”
Whether the rumours are true or not has, up until recently, remained a point of contention in the ongoing saga, with Turnbull taking to Instagram to set the record straight.
Sharing a statement to her stories, she called out the media for perpetuating the rumours, swiftly shutting down any suggestion that she dated Brooklyn at all. “I will not continue to receive harassment or be embarrassed on the basis of lies, to fit a certain narrative,” she wrote.
While Turnbull and Romeo reportedly ended things in early June, the budding model posted a supportive note of his own. Captioning a picture of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday with a concise call for peace, he wrote: “Be nice to people and don’t tell uncessasary lies.”
May, 2025: Brooklyn Skips David’s 50th Birthday
Brooklyn and Nicola’s absence from family events has been noticeable, to say the least.
The couple were nowhere to be seen as the Beckhams celebrated David’s 50th birthday over the first weekend of May, and it sent the feud rumour mill into overdrive.
Family photos of the birthday bash, showed the Beckhams (or part thereof) in matching attire, Victoria and Harper in navy blue silk gowns while David, Romeo and Cruz donned their finest suits.
Sharing the snaps to Instagram, Victoria wrote: “Creating special memories with family and friends. We love you all ❤️ @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven xx”
And while there was no hint of malice in the sweet birthday post, it was immediately flooded with speculation over an absent Nicola and Brooklyn.
According to The Sun, the couple missed the birthday bash to attend the Met Gala, however the couple were noticeably absent from the star-studded affair.
“They cancelled plans to attend the Met because they really intended to be at David’s party on Saturday,” an insider told UK publication.
It’s not the first family affair the couple have skipped recently including other celebrations in Miami and London for David’s birthday. Then, there was Victoria’s 51st birthday, Brooklyn and Nicola instead attending Coachella.
Earlier in the year, the pair missed Victoria’s Fashion Week show and the family holiday to Muskoka, Canada.
2022: What Happened At Brooklyn Beckham & Nicola Peltz’ Wedding?
According to multiple outlets, and now confirmed by Brooklyn’s post, the Beckham feud dates as far back as Brooklyn and Nicola’s 2022 wedding.
Per People, guest of the family, Marc Antony, took to the stage for a performance where he asked Brooklyn and his mum, VIctoria to join him. It was his next choice of words that allegedly caused the rift.
“Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, ‘The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up…Victoria Beckham!’” an insider told the outlet.
This then, according to the source, led Nicola to “run from the room crying.”
According to Brooklyn’s statement, “My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”
He went on to comment on the rumoured dance inciddent, writing: “My mum hijaked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song. In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where our schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me.”
