Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has made it clear he does not intend to reconcile with his family, releasing a rare public statement addressing his estrangement from his parents.

The 26-year-old, the eldest son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, accused his family of attempting to “control the narratives” surrounding his life and of “trying endlessly to ruin” his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.

The statement, shared via Instagram Stories, marked his most direct acknowledgment yet of a rift that has quietly unfolded since the couple’s 2022 wedding.

“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one,” he wrote.

“Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both privately and publicly.”

Long the subject of speculation, the alleged feud has played out through social media unfollows, conspicuous absences from family milestones and persistent tabloid reporting, gradually undermining the Beckhams’ carefully maintained image of unity.

“I had been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” Peltz Beckham continued. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”

“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled. I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

In the posts, Brooklyn described his relationship with his family as “inauthentic”, shaped by what he characterised as “performative social media posts” rather than genuine reconciliation.

“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else,” he wrote.
“Brand Beckham comes first.”

Much of the statement centred on his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz, widely understood to be the initial fracture point in the family dynamic. He alleged his fashion-designer mother had “cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design”, forcing the actress to find an alternative gown at short notice.

At the time, reports suggested Peltz had declined to wear a Victoria Beckham design. She later told The Times that the atelier had been unable to complete the gown in time, denying claims of a feud.

Brooklyn further alleged his parents had “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name” in the weeks leading up to the ceremony. He claimed his refusal “affected the payday” and permanently altered their relationship.

He also accused his mother of “hijacking” the couple’s first dance.

“In front of 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me,” he wrote.

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”

The couple later renewed their vows in 2025, he said, to create memories “that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment”.

Addressing speculation that Nicola exerts control over his life, Brooklyn rejected the claim outright.

“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press or manipulation,” he concluded.
“All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”

The couple last appeared publicly with the Beckhams at the premiere of Netflix’s Beckham documentary in October 2023. Since then, their absence from major family events, including David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations, has only intensified speculation of an ongoing rift.

Brooklyn claimed attempts to reconnect with his father were repeatedly rebuffed.

“He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,” he wrote, adding that David later agreed to meet only if Nicola was not present — a condition he described as a “slap in the face”.

He also alleged his younger brothers had been “sent to attack me on social media” before blocking him entirely last summer.

Victoria and David Beckham have not publicly responded to the allegations.
