On August 14, the Duchess of Sussex will be closing out a virtual summit from The 19th*—a new nonprofit newsroom focusing on gender and politics—with an interview alongside its cofounder and CEO Emily Ramshaw.

Marking the centennial of women’s right to vote, the virtual event will host a series of live-streamed conversations between prominent women in politics, civics, journalism and the arts. The nonprofit is named for the transformative amendment that granted only white women the ballot, with the asterisk serving as a reminder that the 19th amendment’s unfinished business.

In a statement to Glamour, Markle said: “The 19th*’s commitment to reporting and storytelling that lifts up those who are too often underrepresented in the media has never been more important.” She continued: “I’m looking forward to asking the cofounder what it means to build a media outlet with gender equity, diversity, and community at its core.”

Other notable speakers and personalities who will be present in the five-day event, includes Hillary Clinton, Stacey Abrams, Kamala Harris, Melinda Gates, Alicia Garza, and Meryl Streep.

Mark Markle’s first time hosting an event, similar speaking engagements have become a new normal for her day-to-day work life since stepping down from royal duties earlier this year. In June, she and husband Prince Harry signed on to be represented by New York–based Harry Walker Agency, with Markle incorporating virtual addresses into her life while working from home.

Last month, Markle took part in the Girl Up Leadership Summit, where she encouraged young women to stay outspoken on matters of gender and racial equality in America and across the globe.
