Shia LaBeouf is facing legal trouble once again, with his latest arrest unfolding during Mardi Gras in New Orleans following an alleged altercation.
According to court documents cited by The Guardian, bar staff attempted to escort LaBeouf from a venue after he allegedly became increasingly aggressive. During the exchange, the bar manager was allegedly targeted, before two male patrons were punched in separate incidents.
LaBeouf was allegedly restrained by bystanders until police arrived, taken to hospital, later discharged, then arrested. He is expected to make an initial court appearance as the city’s weeks long Mardi Gras celebrations reach their peak.
Footage published by TMZ appears to show LaBeouf shirtless and arguing with another person in the early hours of Tuesday morning, before being attended to by paramedics.
Reports of unruly behaviour had followed the actor across New Orleans in the days leading up to the arrest. One bartender told The Hollywood Reporter, “He is terrorising the city.” Robert Skuse, a doorman at Ms Mae’s, said LaBeouf arrived in a “somewhat belligerent state” and was asked to leave after attempting to get behind the bar and serve drinks.
The arrest comes as reports emerge about the status of LaBeouf’s marriage to Mia Goth. The pair allegedly separated quietly in mid 2025, though it is unclear whether divorce papers have been filed.

Mia and Shia met on the set of Nymphomaniac: Vol. II in 2012, married in Las Vegas in 2016, and welcomed a daughter, Isabel, in 2022.
Their relationship has unfolded in public, marked by cycles of separation and reunion. In 2018, a representative for the couple told Page Six, “Shia and Mia have filed for divorce. The separation is amicable, and all details pertaining to the divorce proceedings will remain private.”
Despite the filing, the pair were seen wearing wedding rings in March 2020 while riding bikes together in Los Angeles.
During one of their breaks, LaBeouf was linked to FKA twigs between 2018 and 2019, and later to Margaret Qualley in 2020.
The latest incident adds to a long line of controversies surrounding the actor. In December 2020, FKA twigs sued LaBeouf for sexual battery, assault and emotional distress with the case later settled in July 2025.
In August 2022, LaBeouf spoke about his past behaviour on Jon Bernthal’s Real Ones podcast. “I hurt that woman,” he said. “And in the process of doing that, I hurt many other people, and many other people before that woman. I was a pleasure seeking, selfish, self centred, dishonest, inconsiderate, fearful human being.”
LaBeouf has previously spoken about his struggles with sobriety and attended court mandated rehabilitation following a 2017 arrest in Savannah, Georgia, an experience that later shaped his semi autobiographical film Honey Boy.
