For those who have been shipping Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams since they first got together, it’s been a somewhat frustratingly low-key relationship.
Despite dating for what we can deduce is almost two years, the couple have managed to avoid not just PDA but the public in general. Even at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, when Abrams walked the carpet at the premiere of The History of Sound in support of Mescal, who plays the film’s lead, she did so separately.
It looks like that’s all about to change, with the couple finally making a red carpet appearance together for the 2026 BAFTA Awards. Looking loved up, the couple appeared on the carpet and posed for photos together — Paul cradling Gracie, dressed in Chanel, by the waist before the singer planted a kiss on his cheek.

Despite keeping their romance under the radar, Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal’s relationship is still going strong – clearly.
The couple were first linked in June 2024 when speculation began circling among Abrams’ fans that songs on her hit album, The Secret Of Us, were about the Gladiator II star.
Shortly after, the couple were spotted together in London on what appeared to be a date at BRAT restaurant in London. According to TMZ, during the encounter the Normal People star reached over and touched Abrams face. Intimate, no?
All but confirming the speculation, two months later, Abrams and Mescal were papped putting on a “loved up display” by the Daily Mail, seen holding hands and kissing.
Come October 2024, Mescal was seen supporting the ‘I Love You, I’m Sorry’ singer at her Radio City Music Hall performance which was around the time a source told People they were “going strong”.
Per People, one month later, a source revealed: “Gracie and Paul are the real deal…They’re at the top of their game and always in communication.”
In a rare move, they were photographed together on the ‘That’s So True’ singer’s New Zealand leg of her tour when they paid a visit to tattoo artist Madison Taiapa.
More recently, both Gracie and Paul finally made their relationship Instagram-official – the modern marker of complete commitment.
The couple spent the crux of Glastonbury festival last year with close friends Daisy Edgar-Jones and her partner Ben Seed as well as Paul’s sister, Nell Mescal, and even actress Chelsea Handler. The result? Multiple photos of the couple shared to social media, including by Gracie via Instagram Stories.
In February of this year, the singer shared a gushing birthday tribute to her boyrfriend, writing: “P❤️Clemmy❤️My whole heart!!!!!!!!! I love February 2… Happy birthday❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I love you both more than words could ever describe. Thank you for making everything better.”
Wait, Are Gracie Abrams & Paul Mescal Engaged?
Fans were speculating a secret engagement may have unfolded between the couple, but the evidence is fairly thin at this time. While on her two-week tour of Australia, Ambram sent fans into a spiral when she was seen wearing a ring on that finger during a performance in Melbourne.
It seems however, to only be a coincidence with Abrams only seen once wearing the piece of jewellery.
