Theories, whispers and ‘inside sources’ have been circling Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding for months, even prior to the couple’s engagement. Because, let’s be honest, we always knew they’d be end game.
We’ve had numerical theories on the couple’s proposed wedding date thanks to Swift’s love of a number-based Easter Egg, rumours on the star-studded guest list which isn’t a stretch based on both stars’ well-documented friend groups and now we have reported ‘confirmation’ of a wedding venue.
Madison Square Garden, the iconic New York City stadium, home to the Knicks and the Rangers as well as countless concerts including Taylor herself, is reportedly where the couple will tie the knot.
According to The Associated Press, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are expected to marry at Madison Square Garden on Friday night, citing a law enforcement official briefed on the security plans.
The festivities are reportedly set to begin with a smaller rehearsal dinner on Thursday night, the official said. The source spoke reportedly on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to publicly discuss the events.
What do you mean Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will get married in a stadium, we hear you ask. To some, it’s a peculiar choice, to others (many Swifties) it makes total sense.

Is Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce’s Wedding At Madison Square Garden?
For as long as the couple has been engaged, talk of a Rhode Island wedding has existed. However, multiple sources have revealed to Page Six that despite everyone being sworn to secrecy, Madison Square Garden will play host to Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce’s nuptials.
So is it true? Well, as you might have guessed, there’s no official confirmation but it’s looking likely.
Here’s what insiders are saying…
“If you have billions you can transform the space into a wedding venue,” one source told the publication.
Another claimed guests would be “transported to the venue on blacked-out buses” while taking advantage of MSG’s “multiple entrances and highly secure infrastructure.”
Page Six also photographed crews preparing Madison Square Garden for what appeared to be a major event. Among those reportedly spotted on site were a lighting company, a piping and draping business, a transportation services company and several unmarked trucks.
Staff were seen unloading large tarp-covered items from semi-trailers, while forklifts moved oversized trunks filled with unidentified equipment.
Even New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to fuel the speculation, joking during a press conference about the city’s upcoming heatwave that “if you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool.”
He later posted a video on social media warning New Yorkers about the incoming heatwave.
Referencing the wedding rumours, Mamdani joked: “We are entering what could be the most extreme heatwave this city has seen in over a decade. It could hit 100 degrees, with temperatures feeling as hot as 112 and staying hot into the weekend. We’re ready, but we want to make sure you are too. Especially if you’re celebrating the World Cup or the Fourth of July, or renting out MSG to get married, hypothetically.”
Other reports point to two permits filed for the venue: one for 1,000 people on July 3 (US time) and another for 100 people on July 2. If the reports are accurate, it could suggest two separate celebrations at Madison Square Garden—perhaps a smaller rehearsal dinner ahead of the main event, or a more intimate ceremony (if 100 guests can be called intimate) before what would surely be a reception to remember.

Still need convincing? Outside of the privacy it would allow from prying eyes, helicopters and paparazzi there’s also plenty of space perhaps for a performance or two from her musically-inclined guests.
Then, there’s Swift’s well-documented love for New York City – see tracks such as Welcome To New York and Cornelia Street. As they say: it’s New York or Nowhere and which city-based venue could host such a grand event? MSG.
We’re not saying it’s a done deal, or that we may ever even know – there’s just as good a chance they tie the knot in secret and drop the pics in an anniversary post a year on – but, it’s a theory and a wild one at that.
