If there is one thing more contentious than planning a wedding, it’s deciding who makes the guest list.
Every couple eventually encounters the same social minefield: the obligatory invites, the distant acquaintances, the negotiations over plus ones and the inevitable disappointment of those who fail to make the final cut. But while most weddings unfold beyond public scrutiny, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming nuptials have become a matter of international fascination.
The world’s biggest pop star and one of the NFL’s most recognisable athletes are expected to marry this July in what will almost certainly be the celebrity wedding of the decade. In the absence of an official seating chart, a single question has come to dominate public discourse: who, exactly, made the cut?
Of course, that is far from the only mystery. Since announcing their engagement in August 2025, speculation has swirled around every aspect of the wedding, from the venue to the dress code to the precise coordinates of the ceremony itself.
Reports have suggested the couple could marry on July 3 in New York City, though neither Swift nor Kelce has confirmed any details. Given Swift’s long-running affection for the Fourth of July and her history of hosting star-studded celebrations at her Rhode Island estate, fans have been left to connect the dots themselves.
Swift has spent the better part of two decades carefully curating her inner circle. Despite being one of the most famous women on the planet, she has long been selective about friendships, fiercely protective of her private life and wary of those drawn more to her celebrity than her company. It follows that her wedding guest list would be curated with similar exactitude.
Reports suggest the celebrations will be remarkably intimate by celebrity standards. According to the Daily Mail, some guests have reportedly been informed there will be no plus ones unless they are married, while fraudulent invitations have already begun circulating among hopeful attendees.
Between Swift and Kelce, the guest list is likely to bring together a constellation of Hollywood actors, music industry power players, sporting royalty and lifelong friends, while simultaneously fuelling speculation about who didn’t make the cut.
So, with invitations firmly under lock and key, we’ve compiled our best-educated guesses about who will be taking a seat when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce finally say “I do.”
Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran and Swift have been close friends and collaborators for more than a decade, with their friendship enduring through chart-topping duets, world tours and countless public appearances.
In fact, Swift has already hinted that Sheeran may play a role in the celebrations. During an appearance on the U.K.’s Hits Radio Breakfast Show in October 2025, while promoting The Life of a Showgirl, Swift was asked whether her longtime friend would perform at the wedding.
“We spoke to Ed Sheeran a few weeks back, and he told us he is constantly asked to perform at people’s weddings. So is he singing at your wedding?” host Fleur East asked.
“Oh, it would be hard to keep him from it, I think!” Swift replied. “It’s like, ‘Ed, if there is a stage, you know you’ll be on it.'”
She also fondly recalled Sheeran’s own 2018 wedding to wife Cherry Seaborn, describing it as a “forest wedding” in the woods.
Whether or not he ends up taking the microphone, it would be more surprising if Sheeran wasn’t there. Expect both him and Seaborn to be firmly seated among Swift and Kelce’s nearest and dearest.
Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez and her husband, Benny Blanco, are almost guaranteed a spot on the guest list — perhaps the least surprising inclusion of all.
Swift and Gomez have shared one of Hollywood’s most enduring friendships since first meeting in 2008, when they were each dating a Jonas brother. Swift was seeing Joe Jonas, while Gomez was linked to Nick Jonas.
Swift was by Gomez’s side when she married Blanco last year, even delivering a heartfelt speech at the reception. Given that history, it is difficult to imagine Gomez anywhere other than the front row when Swift walks down the aisle.
Some fans have even speculated that Gomez’s role could extend beyond that of guest, with rumours suggesting she may be among Swift’s bridesmaids. Whether or not that proves true, her invitation feels all but guaranteed.
Gigi Hadid

If Selena Gomez is a lock for the guest list, Gigi Hadid is not far behind. The model and Swift have been close friends since 2014, when they first appeared together at an Oscars after-party, and have remained fixtures in one another’s lives ever since.
Over the years, Hadid has occupied a permanent place within Swift’s orbit, appearing everywhere from birthday celebrations to Eras Tour audiences. More recently, the friendship has evolved into something of a couples’ alliance. As Hadid’s relationship with Bradley Cooper has progressed alongside Swift’s romance with Kelce, the quartet have become frequent companions, even escaping for a low-key getaway to California’s Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Rumours have swirled that Hadid could be among Swift’s bridesmaids. If true, her role may add a slightly awkward subplot to the celebrations. Before dating Hadid, Bradley Cooper was in a relationship with singer and actress Suki Waterhouse, who also happens to be a close friend of Swift’s (and a former Eras Tour opening act). We sense an awkward encounter may be on the cards.
Haim Sisters

If there’s one group that feels destined for the guest list, it’s Haim. Swift’s friendship with sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim stretches back more than a decade, encompassing Fourth of July parties, Eras Tour performances and musical collaborations including No Body, No Crime and Gasoline.
The admiration is mutual. In 2024, Este Haim described Swift as “the best friend and the best hang”. Expect all three sisters to be firmly seated in the inner circle.
Abigail Anderson Berard

Long before there was a celebrity squad, there was Abigail Anderson. Swift’s oldest and arguably most enduring friendship dates back to high school, with Anderson famously inspiring the Fearless track Fifteen. More than two decades later, the pair remain close, with Swift recently referencing her longtime friend on The Life of a Showgirl. If anyone has earned a front-row seat at the wedding, it’s Abigail.
Jack Antonoff

We would be very surprised if Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley didn’t receive an invitation. Antonoff has spent more than a decade as one of Swift’s closest friends and key creative partners, helping shape everything from 1989 to Folklore. Swift was front and centre at his 2023 wedding to Qualley, so it feels safe to assume the couple will return the favour.
Their presence does, however, introduce one of the more intriguing social dynamics of the evening. Lena Dunham, one of Swift’s oldest friends and a bridesmaid at Dunham’s 2021 wedding to musician Luis Felber, famously dated Antonoff for six years before their highly publicised (and messy) split in 2018.
Add Qualley, who has since become a close friend of Swift’s in her own right, and you’ve got the kind of overlapping friendship circles that make celebrity weddings so endlessly fascinating. Let’s just hope someone has given the seating chart a second look.
Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds

Controversial? Perhaps. But despite the Justin Baldoni legal saga pulling Swift’s name into the headlines on multiple occasions, we’re still backing Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds for an invite.
Rumours swirled that the fallout had created distance between the longtime friends, with some reports even claiming Lively had been cut from the guest list altogether. However, court documents later revealed the pair were working through the strain privately, with Swift expressing a desire to repair the friendship rather than end it. Now that Lively has settled the suit and returned to the spotlight, we suspect the ice could be thawing.
Given Swift’s years-long friendship with Lively — not to mention Reynolds — we’d be surprised if the couple weren’t there when she walks down the aisle.
Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham and Swift have been close friends for more than a decade, first appearing together publicly at the 2013 Grammys. Dunham later starred in Swift’s Bad Blood music video, while Swift revealed that You Are In Love was inspired by Dunham’s relationship with then-boyfriend Jack Antonoff.
The friendship has also had a lasting impact on Swift personally, with the singer previously crediting Dunham for helping shape her understanding of feminism. If anyone is likely to be crying into their champagne as Swift walks down the aisle, it’s Dunham.
Sabrina Carpenter

Long before she was one of pop’s biggest stars, Sabrina Carpenter was a devoted Swiftie. What began with childhood covers of White Horse and Picture to Burn eventually evolved into one of the industry’s sweetest full-circle friendships.
Carpenter joined Swift as an opening act on the Eras Tour, performed alongside her on stage and has frequently described the singer as one of her closest friends. The pair later collaborated on The Life of a Showgirl, further cementing a friendship that makes Carpenter’s place on the guest list all but guaranteed.
Emma Stone

Less publicly documented than some of Swift’s other friendships, but no less enduring, is her bond with Emma Stone. The pair have been close since meeting at the Young Hollywood Awards in 2008, maintaining a friendship that has spanned nearly two decades.
Swift attended the premiere of Poor Things in New York in December 2023, before enthusiastically cheering Stone on when she won a Golden Globe the following month. Stone, meanwhile, was spotted singing and dancing along at the opening night of the Eras Tour and later described Swift as a “wonderful friend” whom she’d known since they were “17 and 18.”
Swift even fuelled years of fan speculation when she revealed When Emma Falls in Love was inspired by one of her best friends, widely believed to be Stone. If there’s a VIP section at this wedding, we’d expect Stone to be sitting in it.
Who Are Taylor Swift’s Bridesmaids?
A strong case could be made for Selena Gomez, the Haim sisters and Abigail Anderson Berard. Then again, when your friendship circle includes Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham, stylist Ashley Avignone and Emma Stone — who famously introduced Swift to Avignone — predicting the bridal party becomes a near-impossible task. Could Swift even create a Man of Honour role for her younger brother, Austin Swift? We certainly wouldn’t rule it out.
On Kelce’s side, his four nieces — Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finnley, daughters of Jason and Kylie Kelce — seem destined for flower girl duties, while Jason Kelce feels like the obvious choice for best man.
That leaves us with a bridal party large enough to rival a theatre production. Here’s hoping Swift chooses a suitably lengthy processional song. Might we suggest the 10-minute version of All Too Well?
Who We Suspect Didn’t Score An Invite
Of course, every wedding guest list is defined as much by who’s absent as who’s present.
While Swift’s inner circle is extensive, there are a few names we’d be surprised to see among the RSVPs. Olivia Rodrigo remains an unlikely inclusion given the long-running speculation surrounding their relationship, while former best friend Karlie Kloss feels more associated with a previous chapter of Swift’s life than her current one.
As for Katy Perry, the pair may have long since buried the hatchet, but we’re not convinced she’ll be arriving arm-in-arm with Justin Trudeau. Then again, if Swift has taught us anything, it’s never to underestimate her capacity for a plot twist.
