While the show tends to thrive on misalignment, emotional whiplash and theatrical dinner parties (we’re looking at you Bec, Gia and Brook), Stella and Filip’s relationship unfolded at a different pace entirely. Their connection felt steadier and, at times, even boring for a reality TV-hungry audience accustomed to the chaos of MAFS, thanks to their unproblematic and genuinely strong connection.
However, it seems the lovebirds may not have lasted as long as we’d hoped. Mere weeks away from what would have been their one-year anniversary, the pair have unfollowed each other on Instagram and shared cryptic posts about life lessons, which are essentially the hallmarks of a public breakup.
Despite being the strongest connection on the show, like all relationships, it wasm’t entirely seamless. At their wedding, Stella’s friends raised concerns about Filip’s influencer ambitions, flagging what they saw as potential red flags. Later, the couple found themselves navigating more real-world conversations around contraception and the practical question of who would relocate once the experiment ended.
Still, those moments never tipped into pettiness. If anything, their ability to communicate clearly and meet each other with a level head only seemed to strengthen their bond. As Filip later reflected, while other couples were caught up in surface-level conflict, they were focused on the kind of issues that actually matter beyond the show.

Set against Sydney Harbour and surrounded by an abundance of colourful blooms, Stella described what they had as “beautiful, rare, real, magical,” reflecting on how quickly their connection had deepened into something that felt truly magical.
Filip followed with the same sense of certainty, recalling the moment he first saw her and how, even through challenges, they had continued to choose each other.
Then, in a final twist, he reached into his jacket pocket, dropped to one knee, and proposed.
“Are you kidding me?” Stella replied through tears, pulling him into an embrace. “You’re the best, honestly.”
“It all makes sense why it didn’t work out in the past,” she added. “I’ve waited for this person for 32 years of my life.”
Are Stella & Filip Still Together Outside Of MAFS?
This morning, Stella shared a lengthy Instagram caption that began: “It would be easy to tell this story by deciding who was right and who was wrong. To point fingers.”
She went on to reflect that life can teach lessons that are “heartbreakingly loud”, adding: “This one was loud. Boy was it loud.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reported that, according to a source “close to the couple”, it was Filip who ultimately called off the relationship.
“It was ultimately Filip who decided to end things. He’d been wrestling with it for a while and eventually realised they just weren’t on the same page about what they wanted out of life,” the unnamed source told the publication.
They added that while it wasn’t a dramatic breakup, there was a gradual realisation that they were headed in different directions.
“There wasn’t some huge explosive fight. It was more of a slow realisation that they were heading in different directions,” they said.
According to the publication, the pair had reportedly been spending increasing amounts of time apart in recent months, with Filip last sharing a photo with Stella on Instagram on June 18.
“People around them had noticed the distance for a little while. With Filip based in Melbourne for work and Stella spending more time with friends in Sydney, they were living quite separate lives,” the source claimed.
Meanwhile, Filip also shared a cryptic Instagram caption, which seemed to support the claims that their relationship wasn’t being prioritised, writing: “You can literally have all these tabs open and still show up consistently. Work. Health. Family. Relationships. Purpose. Service. Building something meaningful. Enjoying the smaller moments. Balance doesn’t mean every area gets equal attention every day. It means nothing important gets neglected for too long. You keep showing up. You adjust when needed. You stay grounded in what matters. That’s the goal.”
It seems the pair may have simply been misaligned, however, they haven’t officially confirmed the split or shared a reason for it. For now, we hope they’re both mending their broken hearts!
