Her off-screen love story

This season of Married At First Sight (MAFS) has already been a whirlwind, but few expected bride Brook Crompton to announce her pregnancy before the show had even finished airing.

Confirming the news to Woman’s Day, Brook says, “it feels like everything has finally fallen into place.”

After a brief and turbulent run on the experiment, the 27-year-old Queensland model has found herself stepping into a far more enduring chapter: reunited with her ex-partner, newly engaged, and expecting her first child.

“This is everything I’ve ever wanted — to be with someone who supports me and loves me for who I am.”

Brook reconnected with her ex, Harry, just weeks after exiting the experiment last August, following the collapse of her on-screen marriage to Chris Neild in the second week.

“Yeah, I came crawling back,” Harry admits with a smile. “I missed her a little too much.”

Despite what some rumours claimed, Brook says she never spoke to Harry during filming, even if he was still in the back of her mind.

“I guess it made me realise how amazing Harry is. He’s nothing like that person I married on MAFS,” Brook notes.

They both admit the reunion came with honest reflection. “He had to put in the hard yards, because he broke up with me. We both had to ask, ‘If it didn’t work back then, what are we going to do differently now?’”

Coming back together meant being honest about what would need to change if they were going to try again properly this time.

Not long after, a spontaneous trip to the Maldives with friends gave them the reset they didn’t know they needed. Away from routine, the relationship felt lighter — less about fixing what went wrong, more about noticing what still felt right.

The version of each other they met this time around came with more perspective and a lot more care.

By November, as they eased back into everyday life together, Brook discovered she was pregnant.

“We just couldn’t believe it,” Brook says, noting that the news felt all the more surreal after two different psychics had told them they would have a baby together.

Then, on Christmas Day in Aspen, Harry proposed. It was unexpected, emotional and, in Brook’s words, perfectly timed for where they were. Now living together and preparing to welcome their baby in August, the couple’s attention is firmly on what comes next.

While the noise of reality TV has faded into the background for Brook, viewers will still be watching to see how her short-lived marriage to Chris plays out on screen.
