Parramatta Eels star Semi Radradra has appeared in court, faced with three charges of domestic violence against his former partner, Perina Ting.
The 24-year-old, who was arrested at Sydney Airport last week as he returned home from Fiji, has pleaded not guilty to one charge of assault causing actual bodily harm and two counts of domestic violence-related common assault, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
Radradra’s bail has been continued and the conditions of his apprehended violence order remain unchanged, reports ABC.
Court documents alledge that the offences took place between October 2014 and May 2015, with one of the attacks believed to have occurred when Ting was nine months pregnant.
Radradra continued to train with his team and was permitted to play in their match against the Cronulla Sharks over the weekend despite being released on bail.
The Parramatta Eels released a statement last week surrounding the decision for him to continue playing.
“This is a serious matter and the club is treating it as such,” Parramatta Eels director Geoff Gerard said.
“In accordance with our club’s values, Semi will be afforded the presumption of innocence, and we will continue to provide him and his family with all the support and welfare services we have available.”
“The club will work closely with the relevant authorities and be open with the NRL Integrity Unit throughout this process.”
Radradra is set to appear back in Parramatta Local Court on August 16.
