The lengthy statement by the Royal family also confirmed that the baby's grandparents and great-grandparents "have all been informed and are delighted with the news", adding that "the family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care."
It is believed that Beatrice's parents, Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson and Prince Andrew, both left Balmoral in Scotland as soon as their daughter was admitted to hospital.
When it came to Beatrice's pregnancy, the royal kept it rather under-the-radar, even working up until her September due date. Her last royal event saw her stepping out to visit Forget Me Not Children's Hospice in Huddersfield, England to meet families, volunteers and staff while learning about and supporting their vital work.
As for her daughter's rank in the royal family, she will be 11th in line to the throne and has become Queen Elizabeth II's 12th great grandchild.
And in a sweet turn of events, the bundle of joy comes mere months after her cousin's birth, with Princess Eugenie giving birth to her baby boy, named August, back in February 2021.
Congratulations to the new parents!
