The Queen’s grandson Peter Phillips and his wife, Autumn Phillips, have announced that they are set to divorce after 12 years of marriage.

A statement released on behalf of the former couple revealed that the pair believe it is the “best course of action for their two children and ongoing friendship”.
“The decision to divorce and share custody came about after many months of discussions and although sad, is an amicable one,” a spokesperson for the royal duo said. “The couple’s first priority will remain the continued wellbeing and upbringing of their wonderful daughters Savannah and Isla.”
It has been confirmed that the former couple will share custody of their daughters, Savannah (nine) and Isla (seven).
Phillips, the eldest child of Princess Anne and her first husband Mark Phillips, first met Autumn Phillipps (née Kelly) back in 2003 when they worked together on Formula One Grand Prix in Montreal, Canada.
A romance soon blossomed between the pair and Autumn moved to the UK to live with the royal. The pair announced their engagement in 2007 and their now-famous nuptials took place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in May the following year.
The pair are not working members of the royal family but are regularly photographed alongside their daughters at high-profile events such as Trooping the Colour.
