Johnny Depp Reveals ‘Several Reasons’ Lily-Rose Skipped His Wedding To Amber Heard

Tensions were apparently running high.

Back in 2015, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard wed on a private island in the Bahamas, which has now become a talking point during the defamation trial which continues to rage on.

While testifying in court, Johnny Depp revealed that there were “several reasons” that his daughter, Lily-Rose chose not to attend his wedding to Amber.

“She and Ms. Heard were not on particularly great terms,” he said.

While he didn’t go into detail about how this tension may have arose, it is clear that behind-the-scenes, things were not good between Lily-Rose and Amber.

Depp then testified that during the wedding, Amber and her “gang” of friends took drugs from a “communal bag of MDMA” during the reception. He also claimed that the schedule for the day read as ‘Dinner, dancing and drugs.’ He later said that he also did do drugs that night, but opted for marijuana.

Depp and Heard are currently embroiled in a defamation trial, after Depp filed a $50 million lawsuit in March 2019 over an op-ed Heard wrote for The Washington Post in 2018. In it, she claimed she was a domestic violence survivor, and while she did not name Depp within the piece, he alleges that he has lost work over the allegations, including a role in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

Depp later alleged that Heard would frequently monopolize his time, which drove a wedge between him and his two children, Lily-Rose (22) and Jack (20) whom he shares with ex Vanessa Paradis.

“[Amber] had to have me there at all times for her own needs,” he told the court, later claiming that she “would tell me what a bad father I was and that I had no idea how to parent.”

In May 2016, Heard sought a domestic violence restraining order against Depp, accusing him of abuse. He vehemently denied the claims, with the pair finalising their divorce later that year. In the wake of the claims, Lily-Rose showed support for her father in an Instagram post, where she praised him for being a wonderful father.

“My dad is the sweetest, most loving person I know, he’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same,” she wrote.

Paradis, who dated Depp for 14 years, also penned an open letter defending his character.

“In all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man that I lived with for 14 wonderful years,” she wrote in May 2016.

The Jonny Depp/Amber Heard trial is still ongoing.
