Rolf Harris Walks Free In London

The entertainer says he feels "no sense of victory, just relief"

Australian entertainer Rolf Harris has been found not guilty on four indecent assault charges after a jury failed to reach a majority verdict.

The decision means 87-year-old Harris no longer faces jail time, after being released from Stafford Prison on May 19.

According to the ABC, a jury that comprised of five men and seven women deliberated for almost five hours.

The jury was considering charges that Harris had indecently assaulted three teenage girls in four separate incidents during the 1970s and 80s.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Harris’ solicitor, Daniel Berke, read a statement from the entertainer after the jury was discharged.

“I am pleased it is finally over. I feel no sense of victory, just relief,” Harris said in the message.

“I am 87 years old with a sick wife and I want to spend my final years in peace.”
