Princess Beatrice, the cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry and the daughter of Prince Andrew, is next to walk down the aisle, after becoming newly engaged to her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi late last year.

Despite the upset that Princess Beatrice’s father’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein has caused, the celebration is certainly going ahead, and according to some newly confirmed information, it’s approaching much sooner than we thought!

Below, we cover everything you need to know about the upcoming regal nuptials.

When will the wedding take place?

The couple are apparently set to tie the knot on May 29, according to People magazine. Beatrice and Mozzi are opting for a spring wedding, although the location of the ceremony has yet to be publicly announced. Earlier this week, rumours have been circling that the queen has offered Buckingham Palace for the wedding reception, which would make the couple’s nuptials the first royal wedding reception held at the palace since Will and Kate’s wedding in 2011.

Unlike her younger sister Princess Eugenie, who married her husband Jack Brooksbank in October 2018, a source also told People that Beatrice and Mozzi are planning on making the celebration a “low-key affair.”

Where did the couple get engaged?

In a celebratory announcement released by Buckingham Palace off the back of the couple’s engagement, it was revealed that Edoardo popped the question while they were on a romantic weekend trip in Italy at the start of September.

The couple travelled from the Italian coastal town of Positano (where we’re guessing Mozzi got down on one knee) to Rome to attend the wedding of designer Misha Nonoo and Alexander Gilkes. Princess Harry and Meghan Markle were also in attendance, so we’re sure the couple celebrated the exciting news with the fellow royals.

Princess Beatrice will get an unexpected title after her wedding

Princess Beatrice is gaining a new title after her wedding, but it won’t be from the British royal family. As reported by Peopleher husband-to-be, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, descends from Italian aristocracy, and Beatrice will become an Italian “Contessa” and “Nobile Donna,” or noble woman, following their wedding.

As the eldest son of Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, Edoardo will inherit the family’s ancestral seat, the 18th century Villa Mapelli Mozzi palace in northern Italy.

We need to talk about Princess Beatrice’s engagement ring

The Art Deco meets Victorian design of Princess Beatrice’s ring owes its beauty to British jeweller Shaun Leane, who Mozzi reportedly worked very closely with. The diamond-studded engagement ring features a round centre flanked by baguette diamonds.

“I am so honoured Edoardo chose to work with me to design the engagement ring for Princess Beatrice and to have been involved in this special moment in their lives,” the jeweller said. “The bespoke experience was a beautiful journey; from imagining the design with Edoardo to the crafting of the finished rings. Being able to incorporate both Edoardo and Princess Beatrice’s characters into the design has resulted in a unique ring that represents their love and lives entwining.”

Princess Eugenie took some of the couple’s engagement photos

Beatrice and Mozzi have younger sister – and sister-in-law to be – to thank for some of their gorgeous garden engagement photos. The royal shared her own post to Instagram, congratulating the couple on their “long time coming” engagement.

“Beabea – wow! I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo,” Eugenie captioned a sweet photo of the couple on Instagram. “It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be. 📷 by me!!”

In the same post, Princess Eugenie also gave us our first exclusive close-up of her older sister’s dazzling ring. Other engagement portraits were shot by photographer Misan Harriman, who shared the intimate black and white pictures to his Twitter account alongside a sweet message.

“Everything clicks when they are together and that’s exactly what my lens captured. It was an honour to observe and document such love,” Harriman wrote. “Massive Congratulations to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Princess Beatrice of York on your wonderful news!”

Prince Andrew will reportedly walk Princess Beatrice down the aisle

In light of the public backlash Beatrice’s father, Prince Andrew has faced over the last year, fans were sceptic over the role he would play in his daughter’s upcoming wedding. However, a source has since told People that he will still likely walk her down the aisle.

“I definitely think he will walk her down the aisle,” the source says. “He plays a very traditional role in her life. She’s his greatest supporter.”

“This is obviously very hard times,” People’s source said. “Beatrice would never do anything to be hurtful to her father. He’s going to be by her side and she’s going to be by his.”

Who will be designing Princess Beatrice’s wedding dress?

The jury is still out on this one, but all signs are pointing to couture designers Ralph & Russo to work their magic for the princess’s white gown. Beatrice famously wore the designer to her sister, Eugenie’s nuptials, where she was maid-of-honour. Other potential contenders Beatrice has worn in the past include Alberta Ferretti at the Met Gala 2018, Roksanda at Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding, and Emilia Wickstead at Trooping the Colour 2019.

It has been a busy couple of years as far as wedding’s go in the British royal family, and things certainly aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
