When it comes to Hollywood royalty, one of the first names that springs to mind is Sandra Bullock.
And while we hold the actress—and her countless cult-favourite films—dear to our hearts, there comes a time for every A-lister where they need to step away from their craft.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bullock announced that she has made plans to step back from acting, in somewhat of a temporary retirement, in order to be "in the place that makes me happiest".
"I take my job very seriously when I'm at work," she explained. "And I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and my family. That's where I'm gonna be for a while."
She also made light out of the extra time she'll be spending with her children, joking that she would be "servicing their every need [and] their social calendar" during her break from Hollywood.
"All the parents know me as the crazy lady with the pandemic," Bullock said, adding, "They know their children will return without COVID when they've come to our house".
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bullock shared that she is looking forward to keeping a much quieter schedule so she can spend time with her family.
“I don't want to be beholden to anyone's schedule other than my own,” she said, adding, “I'm so burnt out. I'm so tired, and I'm so not capable of making healthy, smart decisions and I know it”.

The Miss Congeniality star adopted both Louis and Laila in 2010 and 2015 and she currently co-parents her children with her partner Bryan Randall, who she's been with since 2015.
In a separate conversation with Jada Pinkett Smith on her Red Table Talk, she spoke about Randall's influence on her kids and how grateful she is for the example he sets for them.
"[Randall]'s the example I would want my children to have," she said during her guest appearance, perE! News.
"I don't always agree with him and he doesn't always agree with me, but he is an example even when I don't agree with him. ... He's the exact right parent to be in this position."
"It makes me really emotional, but I feel beyond a shadow of a doubt that my mother brought me these children," she shared, adding that she "found out about both babies" while visiting the town where her mother, Helga Meyer, was laid to rest.
"I knew I would be a mother. I knew I wouldn't be a mother at a young age. [...] I was on a wheel, but it's hard when society is breathing down your neck going, 'You have to do [motherhood] this way.'"
While we wait for Bullock to return to our screens, you can bet we'll be binge-watching her entire filmography.
