5 Of Sydney’s Best Banquet Menus, So You Can Leave The Decision-Making At Home

Focus on what matters - good food and good company

There are two factors that make or break a good group dinner; the company and the venue. We can’t pick your company for you, but we can help you pick out the best restaurants Sydney has to offer.

Lucky for us Sydneysiders, venues that offer specialised banquet menus are aplenty, meaning you can leave the decision-making up to the experts. Whether you seek indulgence in modern Italian, an all-out Greek feast or a mouth-watering Asian banquet, there is sure to be a venue to fulfil that very wish.

Below, the best set menus on offer in Sydney.

The Apollo

The brainchild of Jonathan Barthelmess and Sam Christie, The Apollo offers up one of Sydney’s best (and most satisfying) Greek feasts. Focusing on the share plate aspects of Greek food, the menu consists of dishes cooked over wood-fire and served with a dollop of Greek yoghurt. Order The Full Greek menu and enjoy lamb shoulder, roast chat potatoes, village salad and of course that saganaki cheese drizzled in honey and oregano. If it’s a special occasion, add on an Ouzo to accompany your dishes perfectly.

Ester

A Chippendale institution that perfectly combines the intimate and indulgent. At Ester, you’ll get a specially curated banquet menu with some of the venues most delectable dishes – including, but not limited to its famous fermented potato bread, roasted oysters, blood sausages, potato pasta, flank steak and three milk, sourdough ice cream.

Eastside Kitchen And Bar

A wild and perfect mix of New York/Japanese fusion that showcases Stanley Wong at his best. Nestled in Chippendale’s infamous foodie strip, Eastside Grill offers a five-course tasting menu. Choose from signature burrata with eggs and chives vinaigrette, chicken karaage, kingfish sashimi and Angus beef tartare. Add on a signature cocktail degustation, and the company you’re with isn’t looking so bad after all.

Nomad

It seems only fitting that Nomad is on a list of Sydney’s best banquet menus. Since 2013, the Surry Hills hotspot has been dishing up its signature set menus satisfying even the most indecisive of eaters. You can treat yourself to the ‘FEAST’ menu, or alternatively the ‘BIGGER FEAST’ menu, featuring some of the venues standout dishes. Both include house-made wood-fired sourdough (enough said!) with black olive butter and charcuterie and zucchini flower, finished with truffle honey and pecorino.

China Doll

China Doll, in a prime location on the Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf, delivers one of Sydney’s most delectable culinary experiences. The talented team of chefs come from right across the Asian continent and give due respect to the heritage of each dish, perfectly combining Chinese, Japanese and South East Asian flavours. Although constantly evolving, the menu has several staple items that have earned a permanent place. including the ocean trout sashimi, crispy pork belly with chilli caramel, Penang curry, and tea-smoked duck with tamarind and plum. All aforementioned dishes are included in the selection of banquet menus.
