‘Sex Education’ Season 3 Is Coming In Hot, So Here’s Everything We Know About It

Netflix’s Sex Education pretty much holds its own genre in the modern age of television. A show merging the teenage pivotal period of coming-of-age with the trials, tribulations and challenges of mature-age adulthood, it’s quickly made a big impression globally. 

After two whirlwind seasons, the show is gearing up for its third instalment, which lands on Netflix Australia next month. 

With a famous Hollywood face joining the cast’s ranks, as well as a new twist to the narrative we’ve come to know and love over the past two years—it’s safe to say the new season is going to be well worth the wait.

What will Sex Education season 3 be about?

If you haven’t been able to stop thinking about season 2’s cliffhanger ending (don’t worry, us too), then you can look forward to finally getting an explanation on what comes next for main character Otis. 

After he left a voicemail for Maeve where he finally confessed his feelings, Isaac deleted it behind her back—so will she ever know? We can expect season 3 to determine that one for us. 

The new season will also see a Hollywood maven join the beloved cast—Girls actress Jemima Kirke plays Moordale’s new headmistress, Hope. 

Who is in the cast of Sex Education season 3?

This season will see the return of our favourite actors: Asa Butterfield stars as Otis, while Emma Mackey returns as Maeve alongside Gillian Anderson who stars as Otis’ mum, Jean. 

Talented British actress Aimee Lou Wood plays Aimee alongside Ncuti Gatwa as Eric, and Connor Swindells as Adam.

When will Sex Education season 3 be released?

The third season of Sex Education will be released on Netflix on September 17, 2021. If you haven’t already signed up to the streaming platform, you can do so here

Where is Sex Education filmed? 

Set in the UK, the actual scenes from Moordale are filmed in South Wales at Caerleon campus. It formerly belonged to the University of South Wales, but was closed to education in 2016. 

Lucky timing for Sex Education to come along—when the first season was released in 2019, fans were enamoured with the lush green countryside seen in the series.
