Still getting your head around metallic nails? And the news that we’ve been applying glitter nail polish wrong this WHOLE time? Well it seems we’re already moving on to the next big thing in nail art: Sunglass manicures.
This pretty trend is officially taking over the internet, but what exactly is it you ask?
Well according to Julie Kandalec of Paintbox, who discovered the new trend in a jewellery store in Korea, it’s kind of like Ray Bans, for your nails.
“It’s so incredibly eye-catching, and it changes colors as you look at it — kind of like how RayBans and fall leaves do,” Kandalec tells Refinery29.
“Plus, chrome nails as we know them are done with an extremely fine pigment. The final effect is super-cool, but the application process is very messy. To me, this looks more like a single nail covering, which would make it a one-step process.”
While the trend doesn’t appear to be available in polish form just yet, Kandalec recommends taking the image to your local nail technician a.k.a artiste and see if they can recreate it.
