Tipped to make it all the way to the final on The Bachelorette, Luke McLeod has a lot in common with Bachie alum, Matty Johnson. Aside from the ‘tall, dark and handsome’ thing, they also emerged as early favourites on their respective seasons, and they both have the same taste when it comes to dating.
Last week, it was rumoured that Luke and Bachelor winner Laura Byrne dated briefly before either of them had applied for the reality TV shows.
Now, Sophie Monk’s frontrunner has confirmed the romance: “We did date for a couple of months, I swear to God it was a complete coincidence,” he told The Daily Telegraph.
“She’s an amazing woman,” he said of Matty J’s lucky lady.
“We dated for a couple of months and realised we were better off being really good friends and that’s where things are at now. She’s been so supportive of my journey.”
While claims they’re back in contact might be hard to believe, considering Laura is completely smitten with Matty, the pair still follows each other on Instagram.
The jewellery designer even commented on some of Luke’s social media posts, writing “all of the jealous” underneath a shirtless photo from Luke’s travels in Costa Rica.
