During an interview on Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Matt Smith, who plays Prince Philip, and Claire Foy, who plays Queen Elizabeth II, who they would like to see in the role of future princess Markle.
“Who’s that singer, who goes out with Justin Bieber?” Smith asks.
“Selena Gomez?” Cohen offers, in a tone that suggests he didn’t see that coming.
“You love Selena Gomez,” Foy then reveals to a bashful Smith, before disagreeing with his choice.
Foy then adds that she’s very happy for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
“It’s great,” Smith agrees, before changing his mind: “Well it’s not really, her life’s over.”
We hate to say it, but as the actor playing Prince Philip, he would know.
