It seems Duchess Catherine and her well-dressed tots might have some competition of the sartorial kind from none other than Queen Elizabeth, who just proved you’re never too old to be a trendsetter.

The 90-year-old monarch has officially sparked a royal fashion frenzy thanks to a few of her recent style choices.

According to The Telegraph, UK retailer JD Williams have reported a 134% surge in sales of bright green clothes and accessories since the Queen stepped out in the bold hue at the Trooping the Colour celebration last month.

Just minutes after she stepped out in the look, by Stewart Parvin, she was trending on Twitter and the hashtags #neonat90 and #highvishighness took off.

However it’s not just the green look that the people are loving, her fuschia look by Angela Kelly that she wore the following day has also proved a fan favourite.

JD Williams reports sales of bright pink clothes are up by 107%.

“The Queen is a great example of fashion without age limits, wearing neon brights is usually associated with 20-somethings but she has mastered the trend effortlessly,” Suzi Burns, a spokesman for JD Williams tells The Telegraph.

“Our customers are clearly cottoning on and showing that you can wear the latest trends no matter what your age.”
