Nothing ever goes to plan when you stay at the White Lotus. We knew as such from the very first season, and any doubts we had were immediately squashed by the events that transpired in season two.

From the perplexity of the vacationers and their unique problems to the eery foreshadowing and easter eggs spread throughout, season two had us gripped from the moment a body washed ashore in the opening scene. You can see for yourself and stream the entire season now on BINGE.

The events of The White Lotus season two—all the drama and debauchery in its Italian glory—have not only given us our entertainment fix for the year but also inspired our vacay wardrobes and where we’ll be jetting off to next.

Taking place at a picturesque resort in Sicily, while the White Lotus hotel itself is fictional, the location is not. Meaning, while you shop all your favourite looks this season, you can go ahead and relive certain scenes too (Jennifer Coolidge on a Vespa, we’re looking at you).

Here, we look at the exact filming locations seen in the series, and how you can book a stay for yourself to live your best Italian life.

Where was The White Lotus season 2 filmed?

The White Lotus Sicily is set at the San Domenico Palace, Taormina—a real-life hotel that sits on Sicily’s eastern coast. Part of the lavish Four Seasons hotel chain, the San Domenico boasts stunning views out to the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna.

Choosing the location for its “vibe”, the show’s creator Mike White told Architectural Digest that after seeing many other properties in France and Italy, he knew this was the one. “Many of them were small and wouldn’t photograph very well,” he said. “But when we went to the San Domenico…there was just something about it.”

In addition to the hotel, season two was filmed in the Sicilian cities of Palermo and Noto, as well as on the surrounding Ionian Sea. Other scenes were shot at the Castello degli Schiavi in the coastal town of Fiumefreddo and the beachside La Cambusa restaurant in Giardini Naxos.

“It was cool this season to be able to feature more of the city and some of the iconic places in Sicily. The canvas gets much bigger and that’s a huge improvement,” White told Entertainment Weekly of the expanded filming area for the show’s second season.
