Who Are The Contestants On The Block 2025?
Made up of five different couples competing for a shot at auction gold, The Block 2025 welcomes a mix of reno rookies and seasoned professionals. Get to know this year’s contenders, below.
Sonny & Alicia

After just missing out on the casting call for the show’s Phillip Island season, married couple Sonny and Alicia were thrilled to make the cut for 2025.
Sonny, 44, is an “extremely hard working, articulate” plumber from Queensland, who’ll be competing alongside his dental practice manager wife, Alicia, 42. “Alicia’s strength is her people skills, her kindness to others and her loyalty,” says Sonny.
While the couple built their current family home, they aren’t exactly season pros, with Sonny revealing they sit comfortably in the middle when it comes to prior experience.
“We are by no means epic renovators, but not completely green.”
Robby & Mat

These best mates from Adelaide are starting their first Block journey as the greenest of the group. Which, if you asked anyone else, wouldn’t exactly be an ideal place to be – but for hairdresser Mat, 41, and 37-year-old barber, Robby, coming into the show with zero expectations and a can-do attitude might prove to be a winning formula. “I think a lot of people will connect with us really well,” says Robby. “We are just two best mates, a hairdresser and a barber, gay and straight.”
While both are successful business owners back in Adelaide, their past lives as one of the country’s best figure skaters (Mat), and premier league football player (Robby), could give them the tactical edge needed to overcome the challenges ahead.
Han & Can

Perth couple Han and Can (Hannah and Candice) may have only started dating a year before applying, but it was a mutual dream of becoming Blockheads that cemented their relationship for the long term.
“I have always wanted to do The Block but never had anyone to do it with,” 29-year-old geologist Han told producers. “I’m creative at heart and have always had a love of real estate, so I thought why not?” added Can – a 31-year-old marketing and social media analyst.
The hardworking couple – who are currently renovating their own home together – are looking forward to putting their past experience on the tools to good use.
Britt & Taz

Britt and Taz are are a married couple from Newman, Western Australia, who both work as police officers.
Taz (real name Taran) and Britt met a decade ago, and aside from their shared love of their two children – 4 and 2 – have a keen interest in design.
While they might not have full house builds under their belt like some other contestants, they consider themselves to be quite handy around the home, having completed several projects together during their 10 year relationship.
“I would say we could be classes as amateur renovators,” says Taz. “We have done lots of things ourselves like window bench seats, paving and landscaping, but never something like the scale of The Block,” added Britt.
Calling their aesthetic “Modern Organic Luxury” – Britt and Taz are set to start the season with a clear design style that could provide an interiors edge over the other couples.
Emma & Ben

Emma and Ben are the couple to beat this year, with almost a decade of flipping houses under their belts making them the most experienced of the bunch. “My aunty flipped houses her whole life, she is probably our inspiration,” says Ben of the couples head start.
Having applied seven times before, the Melbourne-natives are ready to hit the ground running and have grand plans to pull off a mid-century-style home with a Daylesford country touch.
With Emma’s knack for keeping things organised and Ben’s methodical approach to managing trades and workflow, their sure to keep the other couples on their toes.
