Despite us knowing that season eight of GoT will premiere in ‘April 2019’ for some time now – coincidentally, also the month the royal baby is rumoured to be due – finally, HBO has released the exact date.

Without further adieu, Game of Thrones will premiere on the evening of Sunday, April 14th in the US, meaning it’ll be hitting screens in Australia on Monday, April 15th.

Alongside the long-awaited date, the first official teaser trailer has been released, showing Jon Snow, Sansa Stark and Arya Stark walking through the crypts of Winterfell only to find gravestones of themselves.

Unfortunately for us, the final season of Game of Thrones will only have six episodes. However, while episodes have traditionally been an hour long, the ones in Season 8 around 80 minutes or more.
