According to the BBC, St James Palace received a letter addressed to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on February 12 that contained a white substance.

Police are treating the letter as a โ€œracist hate crimeโ€ and it is believed the package also contained a racist note.

A Met Police spokesman said an investigation from counter terrorism officers is currently underway.

โ€œOfficers are also investigating an allegation of malicious communications which relates to the same package, and it is being treated as a racist hate crime,โ€ the spokesman said.
