Meghan Markle Will Break Another Royal Tradition On Her Wedding Day

The royal rule-breaker strikes again

Meghan Markle has cemented her place as the royal rule-breaker in the months following her engagement to Prince Harry. From rocking a messy low bun, to attending Christmas with the Queen before she was โ€˜officiallyโ€™ a part of the family, the former actress is adjusting to the rules of the monarchy in her own way.

Apparently, this rule-breaking is set to continue on May 19th when she and Harry tie the knot in St. Georgeโ€™s Chapel at Windsor Castle in front of 800 guests.

Meghan has already broken one classic rule, by enlisting a maid of honour for her big day, whereas tradition states a royal bride would typically only have bridesmaids. Now, sheโ€™s set to break another with the Times reporting the Suits star will give an โ€œaffectionateโ€ speech at her wedding reception.

โ€œShe wants to have the chance to thank her husband and everyone who has supported them,โ€ a source told the Times. โ€œHarry thinks itโ€™s a great idea.โ€

Meghanโ€™s speech will reportedly feature an affectionate tribute to her new husband, special thanks to Queen Elizabeth II and a few โ€œsuitableโ€ jokes.

Ahh, to have a seat at that reception!
