Choosing the right engagement ring can prove almost as daunting as popping the question. A symbol of love that will be worn for a lifetime, you want to ensure you love the style not just today but for years (and years) to come.
Timeless engagement ring styles are a safe choice, but for the fashion bride-to-be something a little more curated may be in order.
While the cycle moves at a far slower pace than its sartorial counterpart, engagement rings – particularly setting styles, diamond cuts and colours – aren’t immune to waxing and waning trends.
In recent years we’ve seen oval solitaires become the choice for engagement rings, but as we head into 2025, a new era of individuality is underway.
Engagement Ring Trends 2025
After speaking to the experts, these are the three engagement ring trends we predict will be big in 2025.
1. East-West Engagement Rings

The rise in east-west engagement rings over the last year speaks to the desire for timeless yet unique styles. And, with the recent seal of approval from veritable it-girl Zendaya, the trend is only set to skyrocket from here.
“This unexpected trend adds a contemporary edge to traditional ring designs, making them feel fresh and unique,” Cullen Jewellery‘s Juliette Carrieri tells us, “Perfect for anyone looking to stand out while keeping a classic feel.”
Kate & Kole’s Co-Founder & Creative Director, Madalynne, agrees.
“East-west settings are poised to gain popularity, offering a stunning way to give a classic solitaire design a refined yet modern twist.”
2. Vintage Engagement Rings

Fashion’s obsession with the old money aesthetic and individuality collides to see old-world and genuine vintage diamonds become coveted stones.
“I’ve noticed a growing desire among clients for something more authentic, more distinct.Antique diamonds, especially those with fancy cuts like Old Mine and Old European styles, perfectly capture this yearning for individuality,” Monika Ruggerino, founder of her eponymous label says.
Imperfections are part of the charm and unique appeal, as brides-to-be look for something more than the expected.
“We foresee growing interest in genuine antique diamond cuts, such as old mine cuts like cushion-shapes and old European cuts, prized for their one-of-a-kind character and vintage charm,” Cushla Whiting explains.
It could also see a rise in coloured stones, with Whiting adding: “The demand for coloured stones also remains quite robust.Sapphires, particularly for engagement rings, continue to captivate our customers due to their uniqueness.”
3. Pear, Marquise & Cushion Cuts

After seasons of unwavering popularity oval cuts make way for a new era of solitaires; pears, marquise and cushion cuts.
A coincidence considering the recent engagements of both Selena and Zendaya? Perhaps, but it also ties back to the growing desire for vintage-inspired styles.
“For 2025, I think we’re going to see a big shift toward more antique-style diamond cuts like pears, marquise (thank you Selena), and cushion cuts,”Katherine Denton of KDJ tells us.
“Brides are still drawn to a modern feel for their engagement rings, but they’re looking for something with a touch of old-world charm—something they can imagine passing down one day.”
