Since the birth of Beyonce’s twins last week, the internet has been rife with speculation.
Especially given reports that the newborns haven’t yet left the hospital.
The latest on the rumour mill is that the babies are receiving treatment for jaundice after being born prematurely.
Jaundice, a common condition among premature babies, causes yellowing of the newborn child’s skin and eyes due to too much bilirubin.
The source, apparently, comes from “family insiders,” who told TMZ that the twins – allegedly a boy and a girl – who have been in hospital since their birth eight days ago, are “under the lights,” which is a common treatment for jaundice.
The gossip website also reported that the newborns have spent a week in hospital with a “minor issue” because doctors don’t “feel comfortable” releasing them. However they are expected to be OK.
While parents Jay and Bey are yet to make a statement about the birth, Beyonce’s father took to Instagram to welcome the babies.
“They’re here!” Mathew Knowles wrote in a tweet that included a digital birthday card that read: “Happy Birthday to the twins! Love, Grandad.”
The tweet angered fans who took to social media to slam Matthew for making the public announcement before his daughter could.
