Taylor Sheats was supposed to be married by now.
Instead the blonde 22 year old was gunned down, along with her younger sister, by their own mother in their Texas home on Friday.
The girls’ grandmother has posted on Facebook that Taylor had planned to marry her partner in a small ceremony on Monday. “They were to be married Monday and later again after graduation from college with a big wedding”
Details are still emerging about the shocking double murder.
According to US television station KTRK-TV, calls to 911 started at about 5pm when neighbours heard shots ring out inside the Sheats’ home.
Soon, the trio spilled out on to the street, where Taylor died in the driveway. Madeline, 17, was airlifted to hospital, where she too died. Their mother Christy Sheats was shot by police after she refused to drop her gun.
Meanwhile, the girls’ father, Jason, reportedly pleaded with his wife to spare their daughters. “Don’t do this. They’re our kids!” he shouted, according to news.com.au.
It was reportedly his birthday on Friday.
It has emerged that that Christy Sheats was a staunch pro-gun advocate. She recently posted a meme on Facebook which read: “I have ten guns. Obama wants eight of my guns. How many guns do I have? That’s right, I have ten guns.”
