The Full Trailer For The ‘Sex And The City’ Reboot Is Here And It’s All About New Chapters

You might want to start clearing your schedule.

Calling all fans of Sex And The City. You’re no doubt aware that a certain reboot, aptly named And Just Like That is on the horizon—and now, debuting on Binge from December 9 (as a little pre-Christmas treat).

The date was revealed as the teaser trailer for the new season dropped in November, with our old favourites Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristen Davis) and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) seen in their all-too-familiar element as they brunch, sip cocktails and gallivant around New York City.

Narrating the clip, Carrie Bradshaw is heard saying: “They say some things never change, but the truth is, life is full of surprises. And as your story unfolds, the city reinvents itself—and just like that, a new chapter begins.”

Goosebumps guys, we’ve got goosebumps!

Now, the full trailer has dropped and we’ve got a closer glimpse into the lives of our three leading ladies. Let’s just say, some things seem very different, while others feel very much the same. There’s some very cutesy scenes of Big and Carrie sharing a kiss while making dinner, Charlotte watching Lily’s piano recital and the famed trio sharing an outdoor picnic.

We also have a glimpse of a funny moment in typical Sex And The City style, where Sara Ramírez’s character, podcaster Che Diaz, asks Carrie whether she’s ever masturbated in a public place, to which Carrie replies “Not since Barney’s closed.”

Given the series’ clout, it was only natural for Sex And The City superfans to freeze-frame and unpack the most minute details from the trailer.

We know the series is set to take place some 10 or so years after we last saw the iconic foursome in the second Sex and The City movie, with Carrie now hosting her own podcast and, rather devastatingly, Samantha Jones no longer a part of the core-circle. But there’s a bunch of new characters whose storylines remain to be seen.

With Sarita Choudhury and Sara Ramírez joining the star studded cast, it was both exciting and intriguing to get our first look at them both in character—and one particular aspect stuck out.

Yep, there’s a rumour that Miranda may discover she is a lesbian in the rebooted series due to a sneaky scene where Sarah Ramirez’s character gazes intensely at the gun-lawyer.

There’s also another scene with an unknown character who touches Miranda’s arm in a jovial way—though fans reckon it may mean something a little more. Check out a full rundown of the rumour here

Miranda also caused quite the stir among her fans because of a short clip of her leaving a subway station. On Twitter, a fan named @alex_abads wrote: “My girl made partner in season 3, bought a cobble hill brownstone in season 6, started at a new firm in the second movie, let her take the Uber.”

Truer words may never have been spoken.

HBO Max has not confirmed any major plot points in the series as yet, but a “leaked script” from earlier this year revealed that there’s trouble in Carrie and Big’s marriage. At the time, a source told Page Six the pair will navigate a bitter divorce.

In September, the devastating news of Willie Garson’s death swept the globe. He was set to return to his iconic role as Stanford Blatch in the reboot.

We’ve no doubt the cast will be giving their all in Willie’s honour for this next instalment, making it a production that does their characters, and the famous storyline justice.
