Justine Damond’s Fiancé Opens Up About Her Tragic Death

The Australian woman was fatally shot by a US police officer

Justine Damond’s fiancé, Don Damond, has spoken out about the devastating loss of his partner, who was gunned down by a US police officer in Minneapolis.

Speaking to The New York Times, Mr Damond said he was planning to still pick up his beloved fiancé’s wedding dress. As per tradition, he had not yet seen the gown.

Mr Damond also expressed regret about the turn of events before Ms Damond’s death on Saturday.

He had been speaking to his fiancé on the phone on the night of her shooting, and advised her to call 911 when she heard a distressed person in the alleyway behind their house.

“I have played this over in my head over and over,” he explained “Why didn’t I stay on the phone with her?”

“There’s like a glitch in the matrix.

“I just know I’m going to wake up from this nightmare.”

Justine was gunned down by officer Mohamed Noor in an alleyway near her home after she reported an incident to 911. Officer Noor has not yet made a statement about the night of her death.

Appearing on ABC’s 7.30, Justine’s friends, Tom and Carole Hyder, appealed for the police officer to break his silence.

“Have a heart man. There’s just families involved. Your family’s involved, our family’s involved, our friends are involved,” Mr Hyder told 7.30.

“Yes, you have a legal right [to refuse to be interviewed], but just say what happened. There are people involved here.”
