Hot on the heels of an incredibly-chic and incredibly-Chanel Met Gala this year, Chanel hosted an opulent dinner in Sydney’s Felix Bistro & Brasserie, that same evening, to celebrate the House’s new campaign for the fragrance, Coco Mademoiselle.

The campaign was first unveiled in March this year, which came with the appointment of a brand-new face for the fragrance, Whitney Peak. The Canadian actress is best known for her portrayal as Zoya Lott in the Gossip Girl Revival (bring back season 3!) and much alike her character in the show, Peak has cemented herself as a rising star.

The stunning fragrance campaign serves as a refreshing reminder of just how timeless Coco Mademoiselle truly is. And what better way to celebrate than at the lively Parisian-inspired restaurant, where guests partook in a classic French menu and signature cocktails inspired by the delicate fragrance notes of citrus fruits and jasmine.

Attendees included Australian actresses Sophia Wilde, Aisha Dee, Sophia Forrest and model Gabriella Brooks, who were treated to dinner followed by dancing and karaoke to a playlist of Peak’s favourite songs until late into the evening. With flowing champagne throughout the night, the sophisticated celebration posed the perfect introduction to the new campaign.

Chanel describes the fragrance as “the essence of a bold and free woman”. A vibrant, fresh amber scent with citrusy top notes of orange and bergamot, and middle notes of Turkish rose and jasmin, which blend beautifully with base notes of vanilla and musk. Since its introduction in 2001, the empowering fragrance, originally skewed to young female market, has been a consistent bestseller for brand, particularly in recent years, even outselling the legendary Nº5 scent.

Boasting similar values and attributes to those of Gabrielle Chanel, Peak as the new Coco Mademoiselle ambassador is an ideal choice.

“Remember, [Gabrielle Chanel] came up in a time when women didn’t really have any freedom,” says Peak. “And yet she continued to persevere, to work on her craft, to create things. Coco Chanel is that girl. She is unconventional.”
